Robert Morris (2-5 / 1-2) @ Central Connecticut State (3-5 / 2-1) Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at Noon Arute Field (5,500) - New Britain, Conn. Radio: ESPN 970 AM (Chris Shovlin - play-by-play & Spencer Kowitz - color) Audio on the internet at: www.970espn.com / Live Video: www.espn3.com
Top Story - The Robert Morris University football team hits the road for the first time in nearly a month this Saturday, Oct. 31, as it continues Northeast Conference play by traveling to Central Connecticut State at Noon at Arute Field. RMU held a halftime lead against Duquesne last week but was unable to maintain its momentum after intermission and dropped a nine-point decision. The Blue Devils are tied for first place in the league after winning their past two league matchups with Bryant and Sacred Heart. Saturday’s game will air on ESPN3 as part of the league’s broadcast package. The Colonials are 9-7 (.563) all-time when featured on a NEC broadcast but have lost three straight affairs in this role. This past Monday was the first of the season in which no Colonial was honored by the league after RMU had played the Saturday prior. Nevertheless, Robert Morris still has amassed a league-leading eight weekly honors thus far this season. RMU will return home next weekend for a rare November, non-conference contest, as the Colonials play East Tennessee State for the first time in program history. Quick Stat of the Afternoon - While Robert Morris ranks among the top 25 nationally in rushing defense, allowing 128.7 yards per game on the ground, that only begins to tell the story. RMU has allowed only five rushing touchdowns thus far in 2015, the lowest mark in the Northeast Conference. The Colonials are on pace to yield fewer than nine rushing scores for only the third time in program history. Robert Morris has allowed an average of 3.01 yards per rush this season—the Colonials have finished under 3.0 in this category only twice in program history. RMU has held four of its seven foes under a 3.0 mark this season with two of the three outliers being nationally ranked teams. The most notable fact about RMU’s rush defense so far might be that it has held every opponent below its season average for yards per carry. In fact, the Colonials have limited three foes more than one full yard below their average in that category. Saturday's Opponent - Central Connecticut State is one of just three opponents Robert Morris faced in each of the first 21 years the Colonials fielded an intercollegiate program, joining fellow NEC foes Saint Francis and Wagner. All-time the Colonials are 16-5 (.762) against the Blue Devils. The home team has won nine of the past 10 games in the series with the exception being the last time the teams met in Connecticut in 2013. RMU used fourth quarter comebacks to down CCSU in 2012 and 2014. For more information on the all-time series against Central Connecticut State, including the last game recap, please see page four of today’s game notes. On This Date (Oct. 31) in Robert Morris Football History - Robert Morris has competed only once on Halloween, and it came away victorious. Like this Saturday, that game was also against a league foe from Connecticut, but it came in the confines of Joe Walton Stadium. RMU and Sacred Heart played through a light rain six years ago on this date, and offense was hard to come by. After a scoreless first quarter, RMU took the lead 70 seconds before the half on a Garrett Clawson (2008-09) field goal. Clawson would tack on a 35-yard field goal in both the third and fourth quarters to give the hosts a two-possession edge. That would prove to be vital as the Pioneers broke the shutout attempt by using a long kickoff return to launch a short touchdown drive. RMU ran out the final 5:20 with 12 straight rushes. Raphael Johnson (2007-10) rushed for a career-high 115 yards, including 42 on the final drive. Michael Landers (2007-10), Elias Navarro (2007-10) and Chris Roberts (2008-10) all intercepted passes in the win.

2015 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Central Connecticut State (10/31/15) - Page 3
Head Coach John Banaszak Second Season - Eastern Michigan ’75 John Banaszak became the second head football coach in Robert Morris University history in December 2013. He served as an assistant coach and assistant head coach for the Colonials for 11 consecutive years prior to taking over the top spot. Banaszak was selected as Coach-In-Waiting in January 2012, allowing for a simple transition following the 2013 campaign. At the end of the 2013 season, he was named as the Assistant Coach of the Year at the FCS level as selected by the American Football Coaches Association. He was one of five coaches selected for dedication to their teams and communities. He was the first RMU coach, as well as the first from the NEC, to claim this honor. The 2013 season was Banaszak's sixth and final as assistant head coach for Robert Morris. Among his numerous duties with the program before becoming head coach, he was responsible for tutoring the defensive line and the special teams unit. Under Banaszak's guidance in 2013, Robert Morris led the NEC in net punting, punt return defense and punt return average. Banaszak was also a key component in instructing a RMU defense that finished second in the NEC in total defense within league play in 2013. Robert Morris finished its regular season ranked among the top 25 nationally in at least seven defensive categories including total defense. With Banaszak's assistance, RMU has led the NEC in total defense four times in the past 11 years and ranked among the top four nine times in the past 12 seasons. Banaszak was a key component to a 2010 defense that led the NEC in total defense as the Colonials claimed the NEC's inaugural berth in the FCS Playoffs. In 2006, he helped tutor an RMU defense that led I-AA in total defense, allowing an average of just 228.36 yards per game. 10 of the 13 players in school history to earn All-NEC recognition on the defensive line have come under the tutelage of Banaszak, including Nolan Nearhoof (200912), who was named the 2012 NEC Defensive Player of the Year after breaking both the school and league records for career sacks. Nearhoof would go on to earn AllAmerica honors, becoming the third Colonial defensive lineman to claim an AllAmerica nod under Banaszak in a seven-year span. As much as Banaszak's presence has been felt on the defensive side of the ball, the same can be said on special teams. He helped five distinct Colonials win an award at return specialist within the span of one decade. A graduate of Eastern Michigan, Banaszak signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 1975 season and was one of only three rookies to make the defending Super Bowl champion team out of training camp. Primarily a special teams player on Pittsburgh's Super Bowl X championship team, Banaszak started five games the following season and then started at both right end and inside tackle in 1977 before suffering a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve list. Between 1978 and 1980, Banaszak started 45 regular-season games at defensive end as the Steelers won back-to-back Super Bowls. In Super Bowl XIII, Banaszak recorded six tackles, including a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery in a 35-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys, which garnered him Defensive Player of the Game honors. The following year, Banaszak helped the Steelers to a 31-19 victory over the Rams.

Last RMU Game vs. Central Connecticut State Game #7 Robert Morris 27, Central Connecticut State 24 October 18, 2014 / Moon Township, Pa. Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 1,034) - Robert Morris scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to cap its largest ever comeback as the Colonials defeated Central Connecticut State, 27-24. After RMU punted on its first drive, CCSU drove 10 plays to move into the red zone, but the Colonials forced a field goal that was made. A RMU turnover and a missed CCSU field goal would follow before Robert Morris tied the game with a 14-play drive was capped off with a 39-yard field goal by Hunter Khaleghi. RMU then pulled into its bag of tricks as it recovered an onside kick on the final play of the first quarter. The play helped RMU take the lead as Khaleghi hit a 42-yarder on the ensuing drive. CCSU came right back on its next drive to retake the lead as it benefited from a 40-yard pass to take a 10-6 edge. After a RMU punt, the Blue Devils then found the end zone on five plays to move their advantage to 13 points. RMU then punted, and both teams followed with a turnover on downs in the opponents’ territory, essentially ending the first half. CCSU added to its lead with the first drive of the second half as it marched 75 yards to seemingly take control of the game. However, the Colonials began to fight back as they drove 60 yards for a field goal. CCSU drove into RMU territory on its next drive, but Andy Smigiera notched a leaping interception. RMU responded by driving 91 yards as Derik Abbott hit Nic Lamica with a 25-yard TD. The RMU defense continued its strong second half by forcing a three-and-out, and the subsequent punt was returned 31 yards by Antwan Eddie, helping set up Khaleghi's fourth field goal. On CCSU's next drive, Forrest Mason jarred the ball free from the quarterback and subsequently recovered the pigskin to give the RMU offense golden field position. RMU didn't waste time taking the lead as Abbott nailed Duane Mitchell on the second play of the next drive. Robert Morris then converted for two points with a trick play in which Abbott caught a pass. CCSU moved the ball near midfield on its next drive, but David Taylor jumped the route and posted another pick. RMU forced CCSU to use all of its timeouts on its final drive of the game, but its subsequent punt was blocked, giving the Blue Devils one final chance. However, Robert Morris was up to the task as it held CCSU to -16 yards on its final three plays. Mike Stojkovic tackled a Blue Devil on a screen pass inbounds on a third down play, which let time expire and sent the Colonial sideline into jubilation. Last Time Out - Robert Morris was unable to maintain its halftime lead on a rainy night and dropped a 16-7 decision to Duquesne … The RMU defense kept the Colonials in the game for much of the evening as it held the Dukes to one touchdown and zero scoring drives longer than 50 yards … Robert Morris held the guests under a 50% completion mark and limited preseason All-American receiver Chris King to just two receptions … Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Zack Zamiska notched a career-best eight stops, including a half sack … Junior weak safety Andy Smigiera forced a fumble that was recovered and returned 44 yards by redshirt senior captain Mike Stojkovic. Just For Kicks - RMU has done well at covering its kickoffs thus far in 2015. Junior Connor Shennan has tallied 15 touchbacks on 26 attempts, the highest percentage in the NEC. However, even when his kicks have not resulted in touchbacks, RMU is holding its opponents to just 15.2 yards per return, the second best mark in the FCS. Stock Watch - Mike Stojkovic was named Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year Oct. 5. He led RMU with 11 stops in its win at Wagner and had earned his first honor after helping limit nationally ranked Youngstown State Sept. 12, as he posted 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble against the Penguins. He has hit double digits in stops in five of seven games this season and totaled 6.5 TFL. Stojkovic currently leads the league in tackles per game (9.3). Homegrown - After missing most of his rookie season due to injury, sophomore Cole Blake has flashed his potential in recent weeks. Blake ran for 117 yards on 22 carries last week, averaging 5.4 per attempt. It was his second time passing the century mark in the last five games. While the local product has yet to reach the end zone this season, he has rushed for a team-leading 19 first downs, including seven on third-down plays. Dante's Peak - True freshman Dante Satcher claimed Special Teams Player of the Week honors from the NEC Oct. 12 after returning a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown against Sacred Heart. It was the fourth kickoff return for a touchdown in program history, but it was the longest one of the quartet. It also stands as the second-longest touchdown of any type in RMU history and the longest since 1996. With his award, RMU became the first school in league history to win the special teams honor in four straight releases. Don't Be Offensive - Through seven games, Robert Morris has scored five non-offensive touchdowns. It has scored twice via an interception and also from a kick return, a punt return and a blocked punt. The school record for non-offensive TD in a season is six. Interestingly, all five of its unique touchdowns this season have come in home games. Sack Master - Redshirt junior Austin Trgovcich had a monster game Oct. 10 as he notched career highs in tackles (12), tackles for loss (3.5) and sacks (2.5). Trgovcich leads the league in tackles per game among defensive linemen (6.4) and is tied for second overall in sacks (5.0). He has posted a sack in three of the past four games. The Third Phase - Connor Shennan is the only two-time winner of the Northeast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week accolade in 2015. The junior was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals Oct. 3 at Wagner, including connecting on the game-winner in the final minute. He is one of three NEC athletes to hit three field goals in a game in 2015 and became the fifth Colonial to achieve that feat. Shennan had reset his career-long with a 46-yarder the week prior while drilling two of his three kickoffs for touchbacks. Break It Up - The median completion percentage across the FCS in 2014 was 57.6%. Robert Morris has allowed only three of its past 25 opponents to reach that mark. In fact, eight times in this stretch, the Colonials have held their opponent under a 45% rate. In each of the past two seasons, RMU had a stretch where it held its opponent under a 50% completion mark in three straight games. Start Me Up - Nick Faraci enters Saturday's game with the most consecutive starting assignments of all active Colonials as he has served as the center for 40 straight games. On defense, Marcelis Branch has the most total starts among active Colonials with 27, but Andy Smigiera and Mike Stojkovic are tied for the longest active streak (18).

The Colonials also held SHU to 1.6 yards per carry and 70 rushing yards. It is one of only two times in the Pioneers’ past 34 games they have not reached 100 yards in the rushing department.

2015 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Central Connecticut State (10/31/15) - Page 7 Special Special Teams - Warren Robinson was named the NEC’s Special Teams Player of the Week Sept. 21. The rookie returned three punts for 89 yards Sept. 19, including a 66-yard return for a touchdown. It marked only the fourth punt return for a TD in RMU history, but it was the first ever by a freshman. In fact, he is the only true freshman among the 123 FCS programs to return a (non-blocked) punt for a touchdown in 2015. Robinson’s 66-yard scamper was the second longest punt return in RMU history. He leads the NEC and ranks among the top 10 in the FCS in punt return average (14.9). Long And Short of It - The Robert Morris defense has refused to let opponents drive the length of the field for scores in recent weeks. The Colonials have allowed only one scoring drive over 50 yards in their past three games. 10 of the last 11 drives RMU has yielded that produced points have been under 50 yards. Making the Grade - Current redshirt senior offensive lineman Nick Faraci and recently graduated wide receiver Duane Mitchell were both named Capital One Academic AllDistrict First Team last November. It was the second straight year Faraci earned this honor and the first such award for Mitchell, as they continued the trend of academic successes in the football program. These two accolades gave the Colonial program at least one Academic All-District honoree in each of the past 12 seasons, a span in which Robert Morris has taken home 23 overall selections. To put that in perspective, no other NEC school has an active streak of football Academic All-District selections longer than three years. Mitchell, a finance major, became the first RMU wide receiver to ever claim this honor. Not Halfway Home – Entering the 2015 season, the team trailing at the half had won only 13.5% of games all-time in Robert Morris history. However, the team losing at the break in RMU’s games this season has a remarkable 5-2 record. Times Two - One of the mainstays that returned to the RMU defense in 2015 is redshirt senior Forrest Mason. Mason earned his second straight All-NEC honor in 2014, making him just one of five Colonials ever to claim multiple all-league honors as a defensive lineman. What made that accolade even more impressive is that the league’s coaches voted him to the team despite the fact that he was only able to appear in seven games. Mason is second in the NEC in tackles per game among defensive linemen (5.6) and leads the team with 8.5 TFL. He returned his first career INT for a TD Sept. 19. They'll Be Back - One interesting way to examine the state of the Colonial roster is to look at the number of players that started the season opener who will be finished with their careers after this season. Of RMU’s 22 offensive and defensive starters from its opener, only five Colonials—two on offense, three on defense—will have used all of their NCAA eligibility when the 2015 campaign is completed. For Starters - When Robert Morris took the field in its 2014 season finale at Duquesne, it sported its 11th distinct offensive starting lineup in the 11th and final game. RMU, which has sported different lineups on offense in its past 21 games overall, saw 23 distinct players start on offense in 2014 alone. Through seven games in 2015, 19 Colonials have started on offense. Wrap Him Up – One week after Jake Tkach posted a career-best 16 tackles, Gerald Ferguson tallied 15 against Duquesne. It marks the first time since 2009 that multiple Colonials contributed 15+ tackle efforts in the same season. It is the first time since 2007 that two Colonials achieved the feat in back-to-back weeks. The Nurse Will See You - RMU's starting center, redshirt senior Nick Faraci, became the fifth Colonial in school history, and the first on the offensive side of the ball, to earn a prestigious Academic All-America award this past December. However, that may not even be his most impressive feat. Faraci graduated from RMU in May with the highest grade point average in his nursing class. He subsequently passed his nursing board exams in the summer to earn his registered nurse (RN) license. Faraci, who owns a 3.94 cumulative GPA, worked in four area hospitals as part of his clinical rotations over the past few years.

20/20 - Eight former Robert Morris football student-athletes were named to the Northeast Conference's 20th Anniversary Team as announced by the league in October. RMU's eight selections to the All-Time Team were the most obtained by one school. The Colonials chosen to the team were: offensive linemen Hank Fraley (1997-99), defensive lineman Ray Gensler (200406), quarterback Tim Levcik (1998-2001), offensive lineman Mark Leyenaar (1998-2001), return specialist Tyjuan Massey (2002-05), defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof (2009-12), linebacker James Noel (2002-05) and punter Nick Schirtzinger (2007-10). No Passing Zone - The Robert Morris defense did well in keeping opposing offenses from moving the ball through the air near the end zone last year. The Colonials grabbed eight interceptions in 2014 within 20 yards of the end zone they were defending. RMU has tallied four such picks in the first seven games of 2015, giving it 12 grabs inside its own 20 in its past 18 games. Seven distinct Colonials have contributed to that mark. Back-to-Back - Sophomore strong safety Ryan Richards Jr. was named Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week in the first release of the season. It marked the second straight weekly release in which he was honored, as he claimed rookie accolades to close 2014. Richards grabbed a pair of interceptions in the season opener, his fourth career start, while adding six tackles and a pass breakup. Richards is tied for the league lead with three interceptions in 2015, and owns four in his career, and has tallied 39 tackles and three pass breakups. Ground Game - Robert Morris posted a sizeable advantage in rushing yards Sept. 26 at No. 6 South Dakota State (228-125). This was due in large part to the Colonials averaging 6.0 yards per carry compared to 3.5 for the Jackrabbits. It marked the 14th time in program history, but just the fourth since 2000, in which a Colonial team averaged at least 6.0 yards per carry. That effort helped RMU rush for 200+ yards in back-to-back games for the first time since 2010. Meet Mr. Smith - Kimani Smith became the third distinct Colonial in four weeks to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors from the NEC Sept. 28. He posted eight tackles, six of which were solo, along with a tackle for loss, an interception and two pass breakups against No. 6 South Dakota State. He also helped hold SDSU to a lower point total than its produced against FBS member Kansas. Smith is third on RMU in tackles (46) and tackles for loss (7.5) and ranks among the top 10 in the NEC in both categories.

2015 Robert Morris Football Game Notes @ Central Connecticut State (10/31/15) - Page 9 The Founding Father - The one constant in the first two decades of Colonial football was former head coach Joe Walton. Walton, the former NFL tight end and head coach of the New York Jets, started the program from scratch, completing everything from hiring assistants to purchasing equipment. He was named NEC Coach of the Year four times in 18 seasons and guided RMU to a pair of NCAA I-AA mid-major national crowns during his time on the sidelines. Walton, currently a special assistant to the athletic director at Robert Morris, was inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame in November 2013. Get To The Chopper - A quick glance at RMU’s record when broken down proves how important it is the Colonials get off to a good start in contests. When Robert Morris is leading at halftime, the program owns an all-time record of 89-16 (.848). When trailing at the break, Robert Morris owns a mark of 15-82-1 (.158). Even going into halftime tied is beneficial, as the Colonials own an overall record of 14-9 (.609) in such games. The Magic Mark - Since the Colonials began play in 1994, there have been 77 games in which Robert Morris has scored 30 or more points. In those contests RMU boasts a record of 72-5 (.935), including a record of 43-5 (.896) in games in which the team scores between 30 and 39 points. In games in which the Colonials score 40 or more points, RMU is a perfect 29-0. RMU Football Historical Tidbits - The inaugural running back at Robert Morris, the late Tim Hall (1994-95), rushed for 2,908 yards in his two seasons as a Colonial. Hall still owns the FCS season and career records for yards per carry, with his season record of 8.7 yards per carry set in 1994 and his twoyear career record of 7.4 established in 1994 and 1995 ... Hall also ranks fourth all-time in the FCS in both rushing yards per game (153.1) and allpurpose yards per game (194.8) ... Former Colonial linebacker James Noel (2002-05) ranks sixth in the FCS record book for career tackles per game (10.7), while his career tackle total of 437 takedowns ranks 15th all-time ... Former linebacker and assistant coach Alex DiMichele (2008-10) averaged 10 tackles per game over his three years in a Robert Morris uniform, which ranks 13th all-time in the FCS record book ... Robert Morris has topped the nation in passing defense twice in the past 16 years, based on passing efficiency defense rating. The Colonials topped the charts in 1999 (with a 80.80 rating) as well as in 2006 (with a 88.70 rating). Did You Know? - Robert Morris owns the all-time FCS record for the most consecutive quarters while holding an opponent scoreless. During the 1996 season, the Colonials went 15 straight quarters without allowing a single point. In fact, the record-setting streak occurred at the beginning of the season. RMU posted three straight shutouts -- 20-0 against Mercyhurst (9/7), 38-0 against Butler (9/14) and 7-0 against Towson State (9/21) -- to open the campaign and then held Central Connecticut State (9/28) scoreless for the first three quarters before finally allowing a point for the first time all season. In all, Robert Morris went 234:04 before allowing a point in 1996. RMU went 9-2 (.818) in 1996, claiming a share of the NEC championship, and conceded just 12.9 points per game. The Last Time a Colonial ... Rushed for 200 or more yards in a game: Myles Russ, 246 (10/11/08 vs. Duquesne - span of 78 games) ... Robert Morris Captains Head coach John Banaszak announced after the team's final scrimmage that four Colonials will serve as captains in the 2015 season.
OFFENSE Redshirt senior Nick Faraci and senior Max Robertson are the team’s captains on offense. Faraci has started each of RMU’s past 40 games at center and was selected as an Academic All-American in 2014. Robertson started 31 games at left guard over the past three seasons, but he was shifted down a spot to left tackle prior to the 2015 season. DEFENSE Redshirt seniors Forrest Mason and Mike Stojkovic are the team’s captains on defense. Mason is a two-time AllNortheast Conference honoree and is one of just five defensive lineman in RMU history to earn multiple allleague honors. He owns 126 tackles and 13.5 sacks in his career. He became the first Colonial defensive lineman to be named NEC Defensive Player of the Week in over 15 years last October. Stojkovic, who served as a captain in the latter half of the 2014 season, was ranked among the top five in the league in tackles per game last year and totaled 82 stops. He owns 165 tackles and 18.0 tackles for loss in a Colonial uniform. The Texas native began his collegiate career at FBS institution North Texas.
Robert Morris On The Airwaves Gameday Colonial football games are heard live on ESPN Radio AM-970 Pittsburgh, the flagship station of Robert Morris University athletics. ESPN 970 and RMU reached a threeyear agreement in the summer of 2013 to broadcast football, men’s basketball and men’s hockey games. The Voice of the Colonials, Chris Shovlin, and color analyst Brian Cleary call the football action. RMU Assistant Media Relations Director Spencer Kowitz joins Shovlin as color analyst for select Colonial road games. "The John Banaszak Show" is on 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Games can also be heard on the station’s website, www.970espn. com, as well as on iHeartRadio. RMU home and league games can generally be seen live for free on NEC Front Row, the conference’s online digital network. The league has added multiple upgrades in recent years, including the ability to transmit live events in HD as well as providing the ability for the viewer to use a DVR-style, in-game real-time rewind feature. Robert Morris will also have at least four games that will air on ESPN3 in 2015: 9/12 @ Youngstown State, 9/26 @ South Dakota State, 10/10 vs. Sacred Heart and 10/31 @ Central Connecticut State. Weekly Segments Coach Banaszak sits down for a weekly chat with playby-play voice Chris Shovlin most Mondays at the All Star Sports Bar & Grill in either Robinson or Canonsburg. Their discussion is aired live on ESPN 970 from 8-9 p.m. Coach Banaszak also has a weekly segment on TribLIVE Radio that generally can be heard on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. A Colonial student-athlete is sometimes featured on ESPN 970 during a weekday afternoon.

6 - Northeast Conference championships (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2010) for RMU in the 20-year history of the league
8 - Number of sacks RMU registered Oct. 3 at Wagner, a singlegame school record against a Division I opponent
9 - Number of receptions Kyle Buss posted in his third collegiate contest, breaking the RMU single-game rookie record
Since Robert Morris played its first season in 1994, three former Colonials have appeared in a game in the National Football League (NFL), the most among current NEC members in this span as of August 2015. Many players have “rewritten” record books at various schools. At Robert Morris, however, Tim Hall wrote the record book. Hall rushed for 2,908 yards on 393 carries in his two seasons in a Colonial uniform and was named an All-American by the Associated Press in 1995. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round (183rd player overall) in the 1996 NFL Draft. In 1997, he led the Raiders in yards per carry average with 5.2 and was second in rushing yards to Napolean Kaufman. On Sept. 30, 1998, Hall was shot and killed in Kansas City at age 24. Hank Fraley, who played on the offensive line for Robert Morris from 1996-1999, carved out a niche for himself in the NFL for over a decade. Fraley was a three-time Mid-Major All-American during his years at RMU before he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to a free-agent contract in April 2000. Fraley was later claimed by the Eagles and started at center for Philadelphia for the entire 2001 season, helping the team to the 2002 NFC Championship game. For four straight seasons with Fraley starting at center from 2002-05, the Eagles appeared in the NFC Championship game. In 2005, Fraley became the first RMU alum to appear in the Super Bowl when he started at center against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX. Former RMU defensive back Robb Butler played for the San Diego Chargers during the 2004 season and was featured in special teams situations, including returning kickoffs.
10 - This is the 10th consecutive year RMU played Dayton, the only non-conference foe on its 2015 slate it has faced previously
