- The Black Knights of the Hudson snapped a two-game losing streak when they downed Canisius 3-0 last Saturday, evening their record at 2-2 overall and in the AHA - Sophomore goaltender Parker Gahagen earned his first collegiate shutout Saturday, helping him get the AHA Goalie of the Week award. He has a .939 save percentage in three starts - Army went 6-28-0 last season, including a 5-22 mark in league, but the Black Knights took Robert Morris to three games in the first round of last spring’s AHA playoffs before being eliminated March 9 at 84 Lumber Arena - Led by Tyler Pham’s four points (2g, 2a), Army’s top three scorers on the young season are freshmen. Connor Andrle has four assists in just three games, while Brendan McGuire tallied a goal and two assists during the weekend series against Canisius - The Black Knights are slightly more experienced on defense, where four blueliners are upperclassmen. Senior Maurice Alvarez has three points (1g, 2a) in the early going - Brian Riley has been behind the Army bench for more than two decades, the last 10 of which have been as head coach. He took over for his brother Rob in 2004; their father Jack started the Army hockey program in 1951
