Series vs.Mercyhurst
Earlier this season, the Colonials swept Mercyhurst for the first time in program history. In game one on Friday evening, RMU won 3-1 before earning the rematch contest win, 2-1 on Saturday. In the team’s last six meetings, RMU owns a record of 4-1-1. That record includes RMU’s first CHA Tournament Championship victory over the Lakers in 2012. Since the series between the two sqauds at 84 Lumber Arena in December, the Lakers have gone 7-2-0 with sweeps over CHA members Syracuse and Lindenwood and one win against nationally-ranked Boston College.

Sitting in the top spot of the College Hockey America standings, Merychurst owns a league record of 12-2-0, its only two losses coming to RMU. Two Mercyhurst skaters rank in the top-two in eight of ten overall scoring categories. Sophomore forward Christine Bestland leads the league in points, goals, assists, power play points and assists and game-winning goals. The sophomore has tallied 58 points this season, 20 goals and 38 assists. Bestland is also the reigning CHA player of the week. Sophomore defenseman Molly Byrne leads the league in defensemen scoring with 27 points. Bryne has scored 7 goals and dished out 20 assists. Freshman forward Emily Janiga leads the CHA in freshman scoring with 35 points. Janiga has scored 17 goals and passed out 18 assists. The Lakers have scored 37 power play goals this seasn with a .240 conversion percentage while their penalty kill unit owns a .860 kill percentage. Goaltender Stephanie Ciampa has seen the most action for the Lakers playing over 800 minutes. The senior owns a 1.25 goals against average and .942 save percentage. Ciampa owns an overall record of 12-1-0.
