THE CAPSULE The Robert Morris University women’s basketball team opens the season at home for the third year in a row when the Niagara Purple Eagles visit the Charles L. Sewall Center for a 7:00 p.m. game Friday, November 9. The Colonials snapped a four-game losing streak in season openers with a victory over Coppin State last season and will be looking to start a winning streak as they take on Niagara for the first time in nearly two decades. Robert Morris advanced to the Northeast Conference semifinals for the seventh time in eight seasons last year. THE SERIES The Colonials are 2-3 all-time against the Purple Eagles as these two teams meet for the first time since 1993. Robert Morris won the first two meetings before Niagara reeled off three consecutive victories from 1990 through 1993. RMU is 0-2 at home against Niagara.
