THE GAME The Robert Morris University Colonials (9-7, 3-2 NEC) will try to end their two-game skid when the Quinnipiac Bobcats (11-5, 3-2 NEC) visit the Charles L. Sewall Center Monday, January 16, for a 7:00 p.m. contest. Both squads are among the seven teams tied for second place in the Northeast Conference with league records of 3-2. The Colonials built an 18-point lead last time out against Sacred Heart but 27 turnovers cost the squad in a seven-point loss. Quinnipiac is coming off a 12-point win at preseasion favorite Saint Francis (Pa.). MUSKET SHOTS u Junior April Williams has 15 three-pointers over the last three games, the most since Sade Logan made 16 in a three-game span in January 2009 u Williams is averaging 19.3 points and shooting 62.5 percent from three-point range during that span u Sophomore Artemis Spanou has recorded three consecutive double-doubles u RMU is 85-21 (.801) at the Sewall Center since 2004-05, including 55-11 (.833) in NEC games u Junior Briannica Tye’s 11 assists at Bryant were the most by an RMU player since Angela Pace (200810) had 12 against SFNY (Jan. 9, 2010). u Five players scored in double-digits for the first time in 107 games in the team’s win at CCSU. Briannica Tye (20), Kelly Hartwell (18), April Williams (17), Mary Durojaye (14) and Atemis Spanou (10) all tallied double-digits in the game. RMU had six players scored at least 10 points in the 2008 NEC Championships game against LIU Brooklyn (Mar. 16, 2008). APRIL SHOWERS Junior April Williams has been raining three-pointers at a pace matched only by two of the best threepoint shooters in team history. The Bronx native has hit 15 treys in the last three games, the first time an RMU player has done that since Sade Logan hit 16 in a three-game stretch of January 2009. Jenna Burkett hit 17 in a three-game stretch, but the record belongs to Logan who buried 18 over three contests during December 2009. THE SERIES VS. QUINNIPIAC Robert Morris is 9-13 all-time against Quinnipiac after winning the last two meetings between these squads. The Bobcats reeled off four consecutive wins prior to the February 20, 2010 game. Expect a close game as 14 of the 22 games have been decided by 10 points or less and four have gone to overtime. Five of the last six games have been eight points or closer.
