In the series spilt with Lindenwood University two Colonials reached career milestones. Sophomore Rebecca Vint and senior Kelsey Thomas moved into the career top-five in three statistical categories. Vint moved into a tie for fourth all-time in goals with 34 career goals scored. Thomas also moved into a tie for fourth all-time in assists with 41. Thomas is tied with current assistant captain Cobina Delaney in career assists. Thomas earned sole possession of five all-time for points with 72. Junior assists captain Thea Imbrogno is only one assists shy of being tied for second all-time with 45 assists.
Series vs. Quinnipiac
Last season the Colonials and the Bobcats met in a neutral site contest that was a part of the Nutmeg Classic host by University of Conneticut. In the hard fought contest, RMU’s comeback effort fell short as Quinnipiac triumphed, 3-2. Current Colonials Thea Imbrogno and Kylie St. Louis each tallied goals in the defeat. Prior to last year’s meeting, the last time the two squads met was during the 2007-08 season. The Bobcats swept the series by scores of 2-1 and 3-1. RMU looks to get their first-ever program win over the Bobcats this weekend.
Scouting Quinnipiac
This season Quinnipiac has tied CHA powerhouse Mercyhurst and have picked up big wins against RPI, St. Lawrence and Princeton. The Bobcats are currently ranked third in the ECAC with a conference record of 8-5-1. Junior forward Kelly Babstock leads Quinnipiac with 41 points, 21 goals and 20 assists. Sophomore forward Nicole Kosta ranks second in points with 31 and leads the team in assists with 22. Senior defenseman Regan Boulton has tallied an impressive 20 points so far this season scoring four goals and dishing out 16 assists. Senior goaltender Victoria Vigilanti has seen the most action between the pipes playing over 1,000 minutes. Viglianti has registered 373 saves with a 2.44 goals against average. She owns a 11-7-1 overall record with a .892 save percentage.
