Thank Yous to TRS Staff A Message from Brittany... It is with a sad heart that I write to the participants, families, and friends of TRS. As you know, as of August, I will be moving back to Pennsylvania to pursue a Masters degree in Art Therapy, a goal that has come about through working with TRS participants. I can truly say that the past four years have been some of the most exciting in my life. TRS & the Roanoke community welcomed me in as a new professional, fresh out of college, and quickly showed this Northern girl what Southern hospitality is all about. From the beginning I knew leaving Roanoke would be a hard thing to do. To the participants that made this the best first job a person could ask for, it is your smiles, stories, and excitement that I will miss the most. When I had the opportunity to attend programs and see you all try new things, socialize with friends, or reach a goal, that was what made my week. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with you all on some great programs throughout the years. You have had a great impact on my life and you will not be forgotten. To Kari, Kristen & all of our wonderful TRS Support Staff, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the wonderful support and guidance you all have given me along the way. You all had a hand in forming the professional that I have become. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and dedication. I do not plan on being a stranger to the Roanoke Valley, so keep an eye out for me at programs and most importantly, keep having fun!
TRS Summer Interns TRS had two great interns this summer from Radford University. Jason Burris and Sarah Bingham have been an outstanding addition to the TRS team. Thanks for all the great work. Jason has worked programs like Greenway Group, Mingle, and Roanoke River Day. Jason will continue on with TRS until he passes his NCTRC certification exam, so be sure to thank him for all his hard work when you see him this fall.

Sarah has worked programs like Leisure Seekers, Chapter Chat, and Mountain Getaway. Upon completion of her internship Sarah will be traveling to China to teach for a year. We wish her the best of luck.
