The Crystal Cities project comprises a growing collection of over 200 drawings and paintings of colorful and artistic castles, cathedrals and cities. They are imaginary places made of lines, light, color and texture. Crystal Cities are delicate structures that reflect the imagined lives of their diverse architects, craftsmen, and inhabitants as well as their unique histories and natural environments. I started making Crystal Cities paintings in 2009. I was just playing in my sketchbook working with wax-resist crayon drawings and watercolor. I started adding different media to my tool bag: magic markers, colored pencils. ink, acrylic. collage and latex paint. I quickly adopted a basic compositional scheme. They are essentially doodles and are enjoyable graphic puzzles to make. I hope you are as enchanted as I am.

OBSERVATIONS
A collection of monochromatic nature and landscape studies from my sketchbooks.
DESTINATION UNKNOWN
A graphic exploration within a limited and idiosyncratic visual vocabulary of racecars, dragsters, junkers, clunkers, hand-me-down hot rods and other assorted vehicles…
POINTY PEOPLE
Sketches and paintings of little (and some very big) people who all wear pointy hats. Other than this idiosyncracy, they’re just like you and me.
ILLUSTRATION PORTFOLIOS Two slim volumes of sketchbook work: “Character Design Portfolio” “Interior, Exterior & Abstract Background Concept Art for Book & Animation Projects”
