Competition: XL Recordings D&AD The Brief: To create an A1 poster representing an artist at a high point in their careers, with an digital animation to accompany it. Considerations: I chose Tyler the Creator, and his monumental occasion when he received an award for the best young artist. Choosing what aspect I would like to depict and how I would do it. The image is a glitch art originally taken from the photograph ‘Boy with the hand grenade’. The image encapsulates the juvenile and chaos with an element of destruction, which depicts from Tyler’s nature and music for which he won the award.

GIF: My GIF is 10 seconds long. Within the short animation, it showcases a quote from the speech. I chose the particular dialogue from the acceptance speech as I feel it was best shows Tyler’s character. These images demonstrate some of the GIF, which flickers between different variations of colour and text.
