RGU SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMME
A HUNDRED THOUSAND WELCOMES CEUD MÌLE FÀILTE
“Whether it is visiting Crathes Castle or Glen Garioch (pronounced Geery) whisky distillery, we are all experiencing something new together as well as having fun and learning. Programs such as this one really highlight the importance of relationships and connections and how to develop those international relationships in the business world.”
Welcome to Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Cultural Summer School Programme. Located in Scotland, Aberdeen has an international airport and provides the ideal base to study and be immersed in the culture of our historic and beautiful country. We offer accommodation in the centre of the vibrant city of Aberdeen, and in a magnificent Georgian Mansion in the Scottish highlands. Our Garthdee campus has some of the most modern facilities of any University in Europe in a stunning riverside location. Our Cultural Summer School Programme include visits to castles, distilleries, museums and many other special locations. In addition there are visits to our capital city, Edinburgh, where you can visit the world famous castle and see the Scottish Crown Jewels.

ABOUT RGU RGU is considered one of Scotland’s ‘New Universities’ but its history actually dates back to the 1600s. Today the University is a leading provider of higher education with an outstanding international reputation, producing confident, highly employable graduates, undertaking ground-breaking research and developing strong links with industry, both in the local area and around the world. A study experience here can provide graduates with a real advantage in today’s competitive workplace.
A TRULY INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE We are immensely proud of the fact that we are host to both students and staff from all around the globe. It gives our campus a genuine international atmosphere. We firmly believe that spending time in a country which isn’t your own opens your eyes to new cultures and customs, not only Scottish ones, but also those of the many international students we have here.
“I had always wanted to come to Scotland and everyone I met at the University and around the country was really friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Summer School to anyone who wants to try something exciting and new.” Mustafa Kurutay Student, Mainz, Germany

“The students from several different Chinese Universities went to Aberdeen together, and had a great cultural and educational experience during their summer school at RGU. They had study sessions with the American and Canadian students, made new friends and learnt from each other. It was an event they will never forget.”
A WARM WELCOME AWAITS YOU IN ABERDEEN Located in the North East corner of the United Kingdom, Scotland’s third largest city is quite unlike any other. Few places in Britain can offer students the chance to experience the buzz of a modern city, medieval buildings, spectacular tropical gardens and award winning, unspoilt beaches – all in one compact, easy to navigate place. Aberdeen is a dynamic, vibrant city, thanks to its strong ties with the oil industry. As you’d expect from somewhere that has enjoyed great prosperity, amongst the iconic granite buildings, are a wealth of fantastic bars and eateries, shops, museums and galleries, theatres and live music venues. Aberdeen is also the perfect size for students – the city is small enough for visitors to get to know their way around quickly and easily.

THE PERFECT BASE FOR EXPLORING SCOTLAND Good transport links mean Aberdeen is a great base for seeing the rest of Scotland while you’re here. All the main Scottish cities, such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, can easily be reached within two or three hours. In fact Scotland is often called “the best small country in the world” and you can visit its most famous whisky distilleries, castles, lochs and golf courses without having to spend too much time travelling. As well as being breath-taking to look at, Scotland’s stunning landscape is also a world class location for outdoor pursuits such as walking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, skiing and more adventurous activities like sphering and bungee jumping! Students can easily experience the best of this amazing country during their time in Aberdeen.
