This is an update of the presentation VALUES FOR URBANISM, in which I discuss three issues:
1. Why discuss values in planning?
2. The intrinsic values of urbanism and planning
3. The evolution of the rule of law in Europe = meaning of planning in modern liberal democracies
I understand it is problematic to speak about intrinsic values in Urbanism, but here I make reference to the values contained in the legal frameworks in which planning has emerged in the West (especially in England and France).
This lecture is intended to Bachelor and Master students.
