PROJECT SUMMARY:
Positioned as the book end to an historic downtown Denver block, The Amp serves as a connection between the people of the city and the places they work. Wynkoop Street is a private, residential corridor lying on the Northern border of the property while the commercial-concentrated Wazee Street lies along the southern. Having opposing uses, there is a stark contrast in level of activity each facade of the project site experiences. The Amp connects these two uses by merging residential and commercial uses, providing a unique environment to both live and work in. In addition to 8 live + work units, The Amp serves home to a prestigious 2,000 square feet art gallery. This gallery is composed of a multistory art gallery, outdoor sculpture garden, a full service catering kitchen, and cafe. The Amp creates a culture of collaboration by merging residential and commercial spaces. Intentional spaces for collaboration are seen throughout this project.
