Palm Jumeirah is an artificial island on the Arabian Gulf Dubai in the shape of a palm tree. The island known as the “Eight Wonder of the World” is larger than 800 football pitches. The Island is also one of the few objects visible from space to the naked eye. Palm Island also adds 60 km of shoreline to the Dubai mainland. The crescent that surrounds Palm Jumeirah
acts as a breakwater to protect the island from high waves in case of a typhoon or storms.
