Cut in Park Rangers proposal criticised Councillor’s fear of an increase in antisocial behaviour

A PROPOSAL to cut the number of park rangers supervising parks across Dublin 15 could result in an increase of anti-social behaviour, Castleknock Councillor Matt Waine warned this week. Cllr Waine said that the

measures could also lead to later opening hours and earlier closing times due to the decrease in the number of park rangers. Cllr Waine said that proposals by the Fingal County Council to reposition up to four of the seven park rangers in Dublin 15 to heritage

parks in Fingal would result in a “greatly deteriorated service in the parks”. When contacted by the Gazette, a spokesperson for Fingal County Council said the council could not comment further as it is an “internal matter”. Full Story on Page 4
