Panda is rapped by Nulty on waste ‘debacle’ Q LAURA WEBB
PANDA, the private waste service that took over from Fingal County Council, has been “sharply criticised” by Labour TD Patrick Nulty following what he calls a “debacle in waste service collection services” last week. The Dublin West TD said he received a number of complaints from “angry residents” across Dublin 15 about the “absolutely chaotic start” of
the New Year for Panda. Residents said the new waste service provider was slow in informing customers of changes to collection dates and that postal leaflets sent out were received on the day bins were meant to be collected. A spokesperson for Panda said it sent notification to 70,000 customers over Christmas but “a small number got mislaid”. Full Story on Page 6
Run for fun: The GOAL Mile in Porterstown Park raises funds PAMELA Duffy and Ruth O’Connell
were just two of the runners who joined in the GOAL Mile in Porterstown Park which raised around €3,500 to help GOAL’s work in the Third World. The event was a great opportunity for locals to use up some
of those Christmas calories. It was also a great family occasion for both young and old to enjoy. Ireland’s most famous miler, Eamonn Coghlan, was on hand to encourage everybody to give their best performance.
