Burglary cases increase by 17% LAURA WEBB
REPORTS of burglaries in the Blanchardstown Garda district have increased by 17%, according to the latest figures. An annual report showed there were 730 burglary cases reported to the local Garda station in 2012, 106 more cases than the previous year. The highest crime rate for the district was for criminal damage. There
were 958 such cases in the district last year, a 5% increase on 2011. Reports of assaults causing harm reduced significantly, with a 52% drop in 2012 with 30 cases, 32 fewer than 2011. The annual report, issued last week by the Fingal Joint Policing Committee (JPC), outlined crime statistics in the area for 2012. Full Story on Page 2
