RESIDENTS of a quiet cul-de-sac in Ranelagh have claimed that they were never consulted by Dublin City Council, over the construction of what call, a ‘monolithic monstrosity’ overshadowing their quiet and peaceful community. The Bannaville residents contacted Dublin Gazette in an effort to shed light on why this building, containing two muse houses, and which they claim, is like a prison and completely out of character with the surrounding architecture, was constructed without them being consulted. They claim that their privacy has been removed by the ‘underhand’ action by the council. One furious resident said: “It is incomprehensible that this carbuncle could ever have gotten planning. This is a Z1 planning zone i.e. developments should “protect, provide and improve residential amenity. “This development is a larger than life scar on the local community and quite frankly, is an absolute disgrace – An Bord Pleanala and DCC should be ashamed of themselves.” Continued on Page 2
