Local parents facing ‘a colossal burden’ Q PAUL HOSFORD
THE delay in payments of the Back to School allowance has caused “devastation” for Clondalkin families, Sinn Fein councillor Matthew McDonagh said, this week. “This is inflicting severe hardship on families across the area. Many families simply cannot carry the colossal burden that is sending a child to school,” he said. Cllr McDonagh said the
delay was unacceptable, and needed to be dealt with immediately. “Many people across the constituency of Dublin MidWest are unemployed, due to no fault of their own, and they need this matter resolved,” he said. A spokesperson for The Department of Social Protection said staff were “working to clear the claims as quickly as possible”. Full Story on Page 6
