Lynn O’Brien, of Specsavers, had their eye on meeting as many people as possible at the recent Active Retirement Ireland trade and tourism show at Citywest Hotel. Specsavers was one of several stalls at the show, which celebrated the vital contribution that retired citizens continue to make to society, as well as their economic impact, too, with “grey power” a force to be reckoned with. Gardai renew call for info on assault Fresh appeal as attack is linked to previous incident
I PAUL HOSFORD
GARDAI have renewed appeals for information on a serious attack that took place in Monastery Estate last September, after they linked it to another serious assault in the area. On the morning of Septem-
ber 11, a young woman was attacked outside her home by a man who punched her repeatedly, before he stopped and fled in the direction of Monastery Road. Gardai say there is a link between this attack and an attack a year earlier in Arran Quay in the city centre.
They are particularly keen to talk to a male who bid goodnight to the girl just moments before the attack occurred. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Clondalkin Gardai at 01 666 7600, or confidentially on 1800 666 111.
