Walker’s 250km journey raises €100k I HIROMI MOONEY
A LOCAL hotelier has called on the community to build on the example of his successful charity walk from Limerick to Dublin and unite in the face of common problems. Tom Moran, owner of the Moran & Bewley’s Hotel group, which includes the Red Cow Inn, completed the 250km walk last week. The “Tomathon” raised more than €100,000 for local suicide
charity, Pieta House. Through this walk, Moran hoped to raise awareness about suicide, to remind people in distress where they can go for help, and to raise as much money as possible for Pieta House. He said: “The Tomathon is an affirmation of the power of the community, and how, when we work together, we can make a real difference.” Full story on Page 7

ska had fun taking part in Ramble Aid ad Corkagh Park recently, which saw the girls taking part in a 5k cycle ride. It was just one of a number of “ramble” events taking place across the
county, with the Irish Sports Council initiative aimed at encouraging people to exercise, and also to help fundraise for potentially life-saving defibrillators for communities across the region. Full Gallery on Page 2
