Mill traders warn of job losses over rents Firms unite to slam impact of ‘Celtic Tiger’ charges at shopping centre

TR ADERS from the Mill Shopping Centre in Clondalkin village have united to slam the “Celtic Tiger rents” that they feel they are being charged, and

have warned that jobs will be lost unless upward-only rent reviews are revised. Paul Conway of Tower Jewellers, who have been in the centre since it opened, said that the rents being demanded of him and

other traders were a relic of a more prosperous time. Sinn Fein representative for the area Eoin O Broin called on the local community to rally around the traders, saying: “Businesses and jobs are being put at

risk by unacceptably high rents.” Landlords Dunloe Ewart had not responded to a request for comment at the time of going to print. Full Story on Page 2
