Plan for tower garners praise  PAUL HOSFORD

THE work of a group dedicated to improving the Round Tower in Clondalkin has been praised this week after their ambitious plans were made public. The group is working with the Office of Public Works and South Dublin County Council, and is seeking to have the area around the tower improved, to promote

awareness and appreciation for the Round Tower, and to promote it as a tourist attraction. The Clondalkin Tower Committee is led by architect Peter Ging, who said that all of the groups involved were “passionate” about improving the tower. “It is very much an icon for Clondalkin,” he said.
