THE LEISUREPLEX Stillorgan was the venue for a bowling tournament for the Special Olympics recently. This was the second year running that it was held and featured teams from Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare bowling. 70 jobs created as new SuperValu opens Tanaiste on hand to officially launch a €1.6m premises

THE local economy in Dun Laoghaire got a much-needed shot in the arm last week when 70 jobs were created with the opening of a new Supervalu store. The new €1.6m premises is situated in the Dun
Laoghaire Shopping Centre and was officially opened by local TD and Tanaiste, Eamon Gilmore. The supermarket is owned by the Centre owners, with initial set-up and operational support being provided by SuperValu and Eddie Kane of the Kane McCarthy group
of SuperValu stores. Speaking at the official opening, the Tanaiste said: “It is a good news story, not only for the 70 new employees and their families, particularly with Christmas around the corner, but also for the local community.” Full Story on Page 3
