DALKEY Castle and Heritage Centre closed this week for an array of high-tech renovations which representatives hope will “dramatically improve” the offering to visi-

tors to the castle and centre. Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Heritage Assets Programme and Failte Ireland’s Tourism Capital investment programme are funding the works, which not only include vital structural

work to the castle, but also the provision of state-of-theart interpretive facilities. The interactive displays will include details of the history of Dalkey Island, as well as highlighting significant local figures.

Margaret Dunne, Dalkey Castle manager, said: “The [installations] will beautifully complement the existing, highly-successful ‘living history’ model of imparting historical information.” Full Story on Page 2
