Loss of 48A will have a ‘serious impact’ Q PAUL HOSFORD

THE loss of the 48A bus route will have “serious consequences for people in the Ballinteer area”. That’s according to local Fine Gael councillor Jim O’Dea, who says that schoolchildren will be most affected by the loss of the bus service. The service will be cut as part of the second phase of the Dublin Bus controversial Network Direct scheme.

“If this proposal goes ahead, pupils from the Ballinteer area will now have to get four buses, rather than two each day.” The councillor is now urging parents to petition Dublin Bus to withdraw the proposal. “I would call on people to contact Dublin Bus and protest at the changes. The loss of the 48A will have serious consequences for people in the Ballinteer area,” he said. Full Story on Page 5
