Council unveils ‘smart travel’ project Q DAWN LOVE
DETAILS of a major new plan aimed at improving sustainable options of transport in Sandyford have been unveiled by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (DLRCC). Gerry Flaherty, of DLRCC, confirmed that funding had been allocated by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport to help launch the Smarter Travel initiative, which will be the first of its
kind in Ireland. He said: “This will establish and create awareness of a Smarter Travel brand in the area, and an action plan for 2012 is outlined in the Mobility Management Plan, due to be launched in early December.” Employees will be kept up to date with information on the facilities and services available to them to allow them to make informed travel choices through a new website.
