A NEW socio-economic research map measuring affluence and disadvantage in Ireland, shows many areas in Dun LaoghaireRathdown, including Stillor-
gan and Killiney, are among the wealthiest places in the country. State body Pobal, which manages funding pro grammes for the Government and the EU, commissioned the research map
from German socio-economist Trutz Haase. The map, which took 20 years to compile, will now act as a research tool for many Government departments, as well as the public. On the possibility of using
the index to assess house valuations, Pobal’s corporate director, Liam Butler, said: “There’s no reason why it couldn‘t be used to assess house prices, so long as it’s not used exclusively.” Full Story on Page 2
