War of words over depot’s relocation Tuffy claims that spin-job was done on Labour Party

A WAR of words has broken out following South Dublin County Council’s decision to relocate a parks depot from the Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan. While the move was welcomed by local politicians, Labour councillor Eamon
Tuffy said a “spin-job” had been done on his party, and that the depot had been wrongly made an election issue. Cllr Tuffy said that both he and Cllr Catriona Jones had raised the issue at council level, but that there was an incorrect perception that Labour had not supported the local oppo-
sition to the move. “Nobody except myself and Cllr Jones took the bull by the horns and put down a motion.” Meanwhile, Cllr William Lavelle (FG) said that his party had wanted to work with council management on the issue. Full Story on Page 4
