MAYOR of South Dublin County Council, Caitriona Jones, was on hand in Adamstown Community College to launch an exciting initiative called Time Banking, a means of exchange where time is the currency. The initiative will be introduced in five local schools and students can exchange time spent in bettering their schools or communities in extra-cirricular activities, such as Tallaght Stadium tickets and movie clubs. Nine schools all set for building works Esker Educate Together is late addition to list

LUCAN schools received good news this week, with the announcement that nine of them will be included in the Government School’s Building Programme. A total of eight schools were originally slated forworks - four
for new schools, four for extensions - but word came in late on Tuesday that Esker Educate Together would be included in the works. The news was warmly welcomed by local TDs. “This Educate Together School in Lucan, which opened its doors in 2007, has
waited five years for this exciting news,” said Fine Gael’s Deputy Derek Keating. “I was surprised when I did not see that this project on the list and am relieved that it will be on the amended list,” Labour’s Deputy Joanna Tuffy said. Full Story on Page 4
