Council rejects claim on floods action Q MIMI MURRAY
FINGAL County Council has hit back at suggestions that its response to flooding during severe weather events has “lacked urgency”. This was in response to a question from Fianna Fail councillor Eoghan O’Brien in December, who asked the council to hold its hands up and admit that its response to public representatives
since the 2008 flooding had been “completely inadequate and lacked urgency”. T he council said that “understandably, householders who were flooded in 2008, and recently in 2011, may consider the response inadequate, but these individual events were reported to the members” on several occasions.
