Dismay, anger at felling of trees at church I MIMI MURRAY
MALAHIDE residents have expressed anger and dismay this week over the felling of trees beside St Sylvester’s Church in Malahide. Trees are to be removed as part of the development of a new parish centre next to St Sylvester’s church, close to the centre of the town. Fingal County Council gave the church planning permis-
sion to carry out the development in May, 2010. But many Malahide residents took to Facebook this week posting angry comments about the removal of the trees. One resident’s comment read: “Once these beautiful trees are gone, they are gone forever. They play a big role in the atmosphere of our village.” Full Story on Page 6
