AN UNNAMED local civilian has become a hero this week after assisting gardai in the pursuit of two men armed with a gun, following a robbery at Portmarnock Credit Union. The financial institution was the target of an armed robbery on Friday, November 16, after which the men hijacked a car and fled the scene. A passer-by drove a member of An

According to a Garda spokesperson, the incident was very serious. “The whole thing was very traumatic for the staff and the other people involved.” Both men have been remanded in custody until their next court hearing. ity walk in rememberance of five-year-old Aoife Hendrick are Pierce and Helen Walsh. Aoife passed away a few months ago when she lost her brave fight for life from complications due
to leukemia. The tots wore pink T-shirts which carried images of Aoife, and they took to the streets of Malahide with their parents and released some pink balloons during their walk.
