Burglaries increase by 20% in last year Policing forum report shows incidents rose to 215 in 2012

BURGLARIES in Malahide have increased in the last year, with reports showing almost a 20% increase in incidents reported in the local area.
The figures come following an annual report of the Fingal Joint Policing Forum (JPF) outlining crime statistics in the area. According to the results, a total of 215 burglaries were
reported in Malahide in 2012, compared to 180 incidents in 2011. Cllr Anthony Lavin (FG) has expressed his concern for the local community and is reminding residents of the
benefits of using the Neighbourhood Watch initiative. “We have a desire to encourage people to get back to basics,” he said. Full Story on Page 5
