Dart proposal a ‘dusted-off plan’ Labour TD says €200m plan will not address deficit

A PROPOSAL by Iarnrod Eireann for a €200 million extension of the Dart line to the airport is not an alternative to Metro North and is a “dusted off plan”, Labour TD Brendan Ryan claimed this week.
Deputy Ryan said it was nonsense to suggest that the proposal by Iarnrod Eireann for the €200 million project to bring the DART from the existing line at Clongriffin to Dublin Airport could adequately fill the transport deficit on the M1 corridor. “I agree that we need a
rail link between the airport and Dublin city centre, however, the point must be made that there is a far greater deficit in the transport infrastructure of North Dublin than merely no rail link to the airport,” he said. Full Story on Page 2
