Lidl get green light for new store Q MIMI MURRAY
PLANNING permission has been granted for a Lidl discount store in West Swords despite an An Bord Pleanala inspector recommending that the application be refused. While the 1,666 sq m store has now been given the green light, and will be situated on the site of an existing petrol station forecourt, on the Rathbeale Road, An Bord Pleanala
has attached a number of conditions to the planning permission. The application was amended after the planning authority’s inspector said the “proposed development would seriously injure the residential amenities of the adjoining properties, which would, therefore, be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area”.
