CALLS have been made for the Health Service Executive to make a report on acute mental health services in north Dublin amidst growing concerns over the effect the permanent closure of acute male and acute female section of St Ita’s Hospital will have on services. T he Mayor of Fingal, Labour Cllr Gerry McGuire, this week called on the HSE
to “outline where persons who are seeking psychiatric in-patient treatment will be accommodated and where emergency psychiatric beds will be provided, noting that all other mental health facilities are operating to maximum capacity”. The HSE said a number of measures were being put in place to deal with acute admissions. Full Story on Page 4
