TD slams pension delay as ‘a scandal’ Employees were promised increase in 2005

A LOCAL TD has described as “a scandal” that former employees of St Ita’s Hospital in Portrane are still awaiting a pension increase they were promised in 2005. The former HSE workers in question are non-officer
grade whose pension entitlements are integrated with their social welfare pensions, Labour Deputy Brendan Ryan explained. Deputy Ryan said: “I have repeatedly been told that the reason these increases have not been implemented is due to the complexity of the
work involved and the lack of resources within the HSE. This is no longer acceptable.” In a statement, a spokesman for the HSE told the Gazette: “Significant progress has been made on this issue recently and a full examination has now taken place.” Full Story on Page 8
