Sale of council land blasted
COUNCILLORS in South Dublin have been criticised following a controversial vote in South Dublin County Council to sell 73 acres of council owned land to a private developer for 30% social housing. People Before Profit councillors, who had opposed the sale, expressed disappointment with councillors branding them as hypocrites. The vote was passed by 23 votes in favour, 16 against and 2 abstentions.
