Red Rock Country Club | $1,300,000

Featured in VEGAS magazine, this $1MM complete gut-out Christopher Homes conversion in Red Rock Country Club sits on a double fairway golf frontage. The private, gated courtyard entrance opens to an upscale kitchen (outdoor dining anyone?) and en-suite casita. Floor-to-ceiling glass enhances the open floor plan and overlooks the crystal-clear pool and spa. Also, the home is as smart as it is beautiful with its $100K Savant Pro home automation system. It’s a good life.

Dear Friends,

With regard to marketing and technology, much inhabits the space, so I work at separating the relevant from the irrelevant. For instance, a company recently introduced new 3D modeling capabilities that caught my attention. We have been utilizing 4k luxury property videos and will continue to do so because they show “sexier,” on the level of a movie trailer, so-to-speak. However, when functionality comes into play, this new 3D technology helps buyers understand the layout and flow of a home up close and personal. It is common to hear the following from a buyer when physically touring a property: There is something about the layout that just won’t work. In those cases, we could have saved everyone the trip had we used the new 3D technology. It would have allowed them a better use of time “in the house” before ever stepping foot through the door—a very good thing for all involved.

GUARD GATED SALES STATISTICS - JANUARY

I once had a client, an executive for a new home builder, who was one of the first in his industry to offer fresh cookies and a public restroom to the folks who visited the models. These builders tracked a lot of metrics, and one of the things they discovered was that the aforementioned perks naturally led people to stay in the models longer. The company attributed this extra time on the property to an increase in sales. With the national and global marketing capabilities the Internet provides, it’s a no-brainer to offer this marketing technique to all our sellers as one more way to elevate the online marketing of their properties. And for the buyers whom we work with from out of town/ country, well, we can easily map the properties they might want to buy to help make their decision easier and possibly quicker. Be sure to take a look at the samples we’ve included in this issue. But for the full effect, you should pull up a tour on your phone or computer. You will be amazed! It’s a good life,

Big Fish the Musical Premieres at Faith Lutheran Middle and High School Article and Photos by Mike Stotts Colossal “fish stories” are ubiquitous trappings of our everyday life. In the deft hands of a consummate weaver of tall tales, these yarns can take on vibrant personas of their own with larger-than-life mythical proportions. Braggadocio increasingly breeds more braggadocio. Just ask Edward Bloom, the lead character in the beautifully orchestrated Faith Conservatory musical Big Fish, its first musical of 2016. Played superbly by senior Jackson Langford, Edward is a father stimulated throughout his life—or so he says—by the need to recant outlandish, yet entertaining journeys with a beguiling witch, a sultry mermaid, and jocular circus folks, to name a few. As Edward’s health suddenly takes a turn for the inevitable final chapter, his unbelieving son, Will, played impeccably by senior Matt D’Arrigo, valiantly rekindles his relationship with his dad and journeys to prove his dad’s farfetched, wildly exaggerated tales. Based on a 1998 book about a father, son, and the stirring interactions with family and community, Big Fish follows the people they contact along the way as their collective hearts and lives are touched with an abundance of realism mixed with fantasy. It was later cast as a popular movie in 2003, followed by a brief Broadway musical stint in 2013. At the Faith Conservatory of the Fine Arts, the alluring musical began pre-production September last year with the bulk of rehearsals uniquely taking place in the classroom. The challenge for the director of Faith Conservatory theatrical arts and a professional actor in his own right, Erik Ball, was how to effectively help his very aware and conscientious high school students identify with the musical’s many, very real, adult-themed situations: love, marriage, infidelity, and abandonment. The play was selected in part because of the richness and educational value of such

situations. “They are accustomed to these experiences from a youth’s perspective, but not from a parent, husband, or wife’s perspective,” says Ball. “We created [rehearsal] opportunities, such as theme studies, games, and activities, to allow them to tap into sensitive subject matter without experiencing it.” D’Arrigo, who obviously had not experienced marriage, pregnancy, and death situations firsthand, says that by channeling his emotions, he learned that “family is there for each other, no matter what happens…they will always be with you, no matter what trials come across.” Will’s wife, Josephine, played sensitively by senior Molly Show, was the anchoring strength behind Will as he struggled to make sense of his father’s crazy tales. To her, it provided life’s lesson of “the importance of family values.” Complemented by a talented cast of 28 on-stage actors and staff, and 25 technical people working off-stage, the opening night’s performance on January 22 was a flawless gem. Even after experiencing professional plays, one would still find the opening performance awesome, tugging at the heart and soul, with tears shed at poignant scenes and just the right amount of humor. Line delivery was solid, actors were believable, set designs and props were evocative without being ostentatious, and costuming added to the performances without taking distracting lead roles.
