About the NAIA The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is the governing body for athletics programs at its nearly 300 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. The long-held mission of the NAIA is to promote the education and development of well-rounded students and productive citizens through intercollegiate athletics. ERIC SIMS Varsity Head Coach • 4th Season Sims enters his fourth season after leading the Lady Warriors to a USCAA National Tournament appearance in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Prior to becoming the head coach, Sims served as the team's assistant for one year and the men's assistant for 11 years. Sims is a 1992 graduate of Livonia Churchill High School. After high school, Sims attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology/Sports Medicine. While at Lipscomb, Sims worked with legendary basketball coach and ESPN Espy winner, Don Meyer. He also had the honor of working with college basketball's all-time leading scorer, John Pierce. Shortly after graduating from Lipscomb, Sims joined the Rochester College men's basketball team as an Assistant Coach under celebrated coach Garth Pleasant, where his main duty was coaching the post players. During his 11 years on Coach Pleasant's staff, he was fortunate to be a part of two USCAA National Championship teams as well as contribute to the development of All-American post players Mike Robinson, Bennie Theriot, Mike Tobin and Will Goree. Eric is married to the former Jill Shultz of East Liverpool, Ohio. They have two sons: 9-year-old Corson and 8-year-old Braden. Eric and his family reside in Redford, MI.

JARESHA OBEY JV Head Coach • 5th Season Varsity Assistant Coach • 7th Season Jaresha Obey is entering her seventh season at Rochester College, her fifth as Head Junior Varsity Coach and her seventh as a varsity assistant coach. After graduating from Mount Clemens High School in 2003, Jaresha went on to play four years at Rochester College where she was a three-year starter, two-year captain and leading scorer, and was named MVP in her final season. Prior to coaching at Rochester College, Jaresha coached middle school girl's basketball at Bethesda Christian School, spent two years working for the Palace of Auburn Hills where she worked the Year Round Hoops program, and ran various Shock and Piston's camps for boys and girls of all ages. Coach Obey also serves in the U.S. Air Force as a member of the Michigan Air National Guard.
