Anyone who knows me and the crew at

BlingRockets, knows that when we are passionate about something we will not hesitate to go above and beyond to preserve it. A week ago I came upon a dog that was in need of rescue, after further observation of this beauty of an animal I noticed a lump on her leg, I had hunch that it was possibly more than meets the eye. After taking her to the vet to get her a thorough examination, my hunch turned out to be right on the money and the dog had a tumor on her leg. With an opportunity to skip out on the rescue, there was no way I was going to turn my back on this helpless animal. This recent situation reminds me of how I got into this whole custom sportbike eMagazine business in the first place. Two years ago stuck at home while dealing with a severe injury to my back I realized that the media outlets who were covering the custom sportbike industry, which I had become so passionate about, were heading in directions

that I did not agree with. I decided to attempt to rescue it with a help of a few friends just as I have done with this pooch by starting up what we now know today as BlingRockets.com. Attempting to start a Forum and eMagazine during a recession was deemed idiotic by a few of my close friends but in no way did they deter me from my passion. We the crew at BlingRockets intends to bring to you the readers, this publication until the very end, as Jesse our Marketing and Promotions director says “we the band will keep playing until the ship sinks. This month we bring to you bikes that were captured during our recent trip to the infamous Daytona Bike Week. We started out by capturing our cover bike that was an outside of the box creation from our friends at Garwood Custom Cycles. Like every issue of BlingRockets we attempt to bring to our readers a well diverse group of bikes from a well diverse group of builders. We would like to thank all of our readers for the continued support of the truest Custom Sportbike Magazine in the business. We ask that you continue to support all of the shops and people that support us, they help make this publication possible for you. Be safe and until next time you can catch me on the forum.

When he was faced with a life altering injury, Jamie

Luczak decided to use his 2006 Hayabusa in order to overcome his situation. After being injured and confined to his home for several months, Jamie used this time to conduct extensive research to find the best custom motorcycle parts available to man. Due to the excessive pain caused by his injuries, Jamie knew that his project would do two things, help keep his mind occupied and take a very long time to accomplish. Once he had narrowed down and created a master grocery list of over-the-top parts, it was time to attempt to make his vision come to life. In order to make his bike truly unique and stand apart from the thousands of custom Hayabusas, Jamie decided to combine and mold body parts from the GSX-R1000 into the Hayabusa. The stock Busa's front forks and fender were scrapped and replaced with a set from a GSX-R1000 which were internally lowered and revalved to handle the changes. He then used a Gregg's Customs GXR-1000 tail conversion kit to add an additional aspect of uniqueness.

transformation Jamie shaved 3” off of a double bubble windscreen and moldose fairing along with a set of Carpenter Racing ram air scoops. The Busa's ere molded and smoothed to accommodate a Koso digital speedometer. A set Pingel billet grips and throttle, Beringer master cylinders, and some Grip Ace ovided the ultra clean and compact appearance that Jamie was looking for.

ouldn't be complete without a big tire kit so a Myrtle West 300 ten inch over mance Machine “Torque” wheels were chosen. When it came time for all apor metal finishing, everything was gathered, even down to the GPR stabilizer. nents did their black chrome magic to just about everything on the bike aside work which received a finish of PPG white with silver pearl. This build has d it's purpose by helping him overcome life's obstacles and by serving as the ie's latest business venture - 716 Chop Shop. -JF

Throughout the motorcycle community Rene-

gade Classics is known as a motorcycle clothing store. Owner/Operator Marty of the Renegade Classic store in Richmond Hill, GA decided to take his store over the top and to the next level. He attempted to do this by first servicing v-twin bikes and later deciding to go even a step further by entering into the sportbike realm, providing services and customization. In order to show everyone just what this Motorcycle Clothing store was capable of, Marty decided to customize one of the few v-twin sportbikes, a 2002 Suzuki TL1000. To give this TL what it needed to be a head turner Marty turned to the guys at Myrtle West to create a first 10 over 330 swingarm with a set of ZX-14 replica rims that were first

polished and then anodized which gave them their rich appearance. Marty had the T candy red, done by a local paint shop in Richmond Hill called “The Shop. This TL d be a head turner making you take that second look. Marty accomplished what he se and his guys have what it takes to compete in the custom sportbike industry as well bike. You can see this bike around at various bike nights and at various bike shows

TL painted in a heavy flake definitely has what it takes to et out to do, showing that he l as creating a helluva shop around the southeast. -JF

As the thought of attending Daytona's Bike Week came to mind, Garwood Custom

Cycles began brainstorming an over-the-top build to showcase during Florida's motorcycle rally. After weeks of pondering over ideas, the master plan that woul building reputation to the next level was born. Garwood cycles is known around th nity for their stretched out, fat tired, military themed Busas. This time they decide GSX-R1000 and go tall instead of wide with a 20 rim in the back and a 19 rim in

Using a combination of a 14” super stretched single sided arm and an old school mini-truck style paint scheme by Neyon Paint definitely helped take this build to the next level. This rocket is without a doubt fully prepared for the darkness of the night, using a seven color LED and HALO lighting system by Sportbike Lites, it's impossible not to notice this bike at bike night. The HALO system is a one-off multi-color changing unit not seen by us before on any other 2009 GSX-R1000. The saddle on this retro stead was custom designed and stitched to match the flow of the paint scheme. Small details such as using custom gauges from streetracerparts.com assisted in not only continuing the design flow but also branded the bike which was so honorably named “Next Level” by the Garwood crew. Knowing that this bike project was completed within a short six week period we feel that Garwood Custom Cycles definitely succeeded in showing the world that they are fully capable of stepping out of their comfort zone. -JF

"Christine", the original Brock's Perfor-

mance guinea pig - a BMW S1000RR. Since the first hype of BMW's newest sportbike, Brock's Performance has been on a quest to turn this street monster of a sportbike into the baddest drag bike to ever run the 1/4 mile. After hundreds of dyno runs and hours of tweaking by the master himself, Brock has made this beast produce incredible numbers only to be admired by on-lookers and fans. When deciding to market his achievements with Christine, Brock figured it was time to introduce her to seasoned model Heather. Since the introduction of the ladies to each other, their match has been nothing short of incredible. -JF

March

in Daytona brings many things. Cold weather with surges of heat and sun, 200,000 bikers from around the country, more leather and lace then the adult film festival and the country's best stunters. Having travelled to several of the XDL competitions across the nation myself, I can attest that the layout and location of the Florida stop for this tour is one not to miss. This is their second year running here in sunny Florida and it's definitely heating up to be quite the event.

What better tool to have to boost motivation and moral then a

sound blasting, tire smoking super fast 450 Quad injected with a Yamaha R6 motor. Well, that is what Team Asian Specialty over at Wyotech created when faced with boredom and was challenged by their Instructor Brian. Then team captains Allen and Mark were given a Yamaha 450 quad and a Yamaha R6 and asked to create a tire smoking masterpiece. After 4 days of hard work and dedication the class project was finished. After review of the project by the Head Campus they were allotted the opportunity to go further with their project by being granted additional parts to make their creation even better.

Given a fresh custom Yamaha blue paintjob to match its power-plant along with a state of the art flip-out radio deck and set of speakers, this Team Asian Specialty creation was ready to take on the world. This beast has won 1st place trophies 2 years in a row at the Spring Break Nationals hosted at the Ocean Center in Daytona, FL. Now housed at the Wyotech in Daytona and brought out on occasion to boost the moral and motivation of the students by showing them what is possible to create when you put your mind to it, this work of art continues to be a hit. -JF
