The Rockhurst University Leadership Series luncheon in St. Louis will honor the 2019 recipients of the Magis Award and Faber Young Alumni Award. MAGIS AWARD The Magis Award is given to members of the Rockhurst community in St. Louis who epitomize the Jesuit value of magis, meaning “more.” This year’s Magis Award recipients, Steve and Margie West, are lifelong St. Louisans, longtime members of St. Joan of Arc Parish, and faithful servants of their church and community. The couple have been married for 40 years and are the parents of three children.

The tournament benefits the Stephen M. West Memorial Foundation, which provides tuition assistance for families in need at St. Joan of Arc School (now South City Catholic Academy) and CBC High School. Through the foundation, the Wests have also established an endowed scholarship at Rockhurst University. These efforts have raised more than $150,000 and benefitted thousands of St. Louis area residents, assisting with tuition for families in need.
