UK rock sensation exploding internationally;
“DESTINED TO BECOME THE BIGGEST BAND THE UK HAS PRODUCED IN YEARS” (BBC INTRODUCING) “THIS IS A BIG RECORD” (HUW STEPHENS, BBC RADIO 1) “I’VE BEEN BLOWN AWAY BY THE WHOLLS.” (NME) Having honed their craft over a five year development – touring, recording and sneaking into the owner of their now label’s grounds uninvited to play their set – The Wholls have steadily carved out their place in the music scene with a sound and energy that is totally their own. The music these guys make has been given some of the highest accolades, having been playlisted on BBC Radio 1 (Feb 2016), then Radio X ROTW, Virgin Radio ROTW, Bayhern 3 Germany ROTW, they are currently on German FM stations and receiving spot plays in the UK. Spotify streams are in excess of 1.5 million and additions to Spotify curated playlists include ‘Rock Rotation’ [#1 position held w/c 05/02/18] (185k followers); ‘Rock United’ (35k followers) and ‘Walk Like A Badass’ (380k followers). 2016 The Wholls were asked to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading Festival and were hailed as Radio 1’s ‘Best Of’ Reading Festival that year (video on website). Setting their sights for the European market, the band flew out to Germany the following month to perform the Reeperbahn Festival. With a small, low-budget student radio campaign in place they totally packed out the Hamburg venue, with a queue round the block of 300+ people who could not
get in. Luckily some of the people who did manage to witness the show were Sony Music and in December 2016 The Wholls signed a licensing deal for GSA (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) 2017 kicked off with a European tour alongside Royal Republic, taking in venues across the continent packed with up to 3,000 people. They returned to Germany in May to perform a residency at Sage Club, which by the final week was sold out (as was their headline show in November of that year to celebrate the club’s 20th Birthday). Whilst in Berlin the band played a private party for Shazaam who have since been huge supporters. Their blinding live performances saw them take in numerous stages in 2017 – part of This Feeling and Jack Daniel’s ‘Jack Rocks 7’ for 2017 playing all TF/JD festival stages. The Wholls were also main support at Bedford Park for The Kaiser Chiefs and Feeder; They graced The Isle of Wight, The Great Escape, TRNSMT, Y-Not, Reading, Wilkestock (BBC Introducing), Sound of the Forest (Germany), Kazoopa (Headline) Festivals. 2018 This year is set to be even more exciting for this hard-working band. John Giddings’ Solo Music Agency took the band on for Europe in 2018 and adds to the everexpanding group of respected, globally established teams that are putting their belief into breaking this band. The Wholls released their latest single ‘Going Down’ on February 9th accompanied by a video courteously financed by Shazaam. Recently on a headline tour of Germany that was sponsored by Jägermeister, The Wholls returned to the UK in March 2018 for a headline tour in association with Live Nation, This Feeling and Metropolis Music. To add to their growing exposure a film sync in Germany has been secured (Germany’s biggest film of the year). Canadian TV sync, plus ESPN in America ensures that fans across the pond will soon be joining the party. If you haven’t yet seen these guys rip a venue to pieces live – get to their next show.
