29” bikes and all the products that are available for this specific “size” of bike are here to stay. There are a wide range of applications, from hardtail to long-travel full-suspension. This is why RockShox has created a wide line of product to offer different platforms of forks, so every rider can experience their personal favorite 29” ride, from 80 to 140mm of suspension travel.

Historic Tremalzo trails on 2012 suspension The legendary rough and rocky military tracks and trails around Lake Garda in Italy were the stage for an epic RockShox experience this spring. These trails are considered the birthplace of mountain biking in Europe in the early 1990s. The adventure began with a shuttle ride from Riva del Garda to the Tremalzo pass at 1650 meters, in dense fog and 5-degree Celsius temperatures. Seven members of the RockShox team covered over 1968 meters of descending and 400 meters of climbing over 27 kilometers before the epic adventure was celebrated alongside the lake at 26 degrees with a toast of cold beers at the world famous Mecki’s Bar in Torbole.

Motion Control DNA When RockShox invented Motion Control in 2005 two forks were introduced to the market with this feature: Reba and Pike. Seven years later trails are more demanding, mountain bikers tackle rougher trails and RockShox reinvented the system, now called Motion Control DNA. The new evolution of RockShox damping technology is built on the fundamental building blocks of Motion Control – great adjustability, superior damping performance, low maintenance and easy service. Highlighted by a new lighter weight spring tube inspired by a double helix, Motion XX Control DNA has a new level of precise control for superior rider interface. For the different riding styles there are four models of Motion Control DNA with Dual Flow rebound (exclusively available in SID and Revelation): • XX • RCT3 • RLT • RL XX - Designed for riders looking to be the fastest and most efficient The XX Motion Control DNA damper features RockShox’s XLoc hydraulic remote lockout for the lightest, most ergonomic go-fast solution. RCT3 - The ultimate in adjustability and bump performance The new RCT3 damper features three distinct knob positions – Open, Threshold and Lock. The rider is able to quickly and easily access these three modes to manipulate damping performance for specific terrain: • Open for bump-gobbling performance • Threshold for efficiency and moderate bump compliance • Lock for ultimate pedaling efficiency In addition to its three distinct modes, RCT3 features an independent adjustment of low speed compression.

RLT - The classic adjustments of Motion Control with threshold Featuring the adjustments of Motion Control – compression-to-lock with adjustable threshold updated with a Motion Control DNA spring tube and refined Dual Flow rebound. RL - The entry to Motion Control benefits The Motion Control DNA spring tube and refined Dual Flow rebound mated to compression-to-lock adjustability with a factory set threshold.

Climbing Features Long travel bikes are fun, especially on the downhills. However, grinding up a hill with a long travel fork is a different story. To bring back the joy of climbing, RockShox created two spring systems with a climbing mode feature, available in several fork models for 2012: Revelation, Totem, Lyrik and Sektor (air spring and coil systems). Just flip the lever while you are riding, push the fork down – our Dual Position spring systems shorten the fork by about 30mm. This lowers the bike’s front end, allowing you to get into a more powerful climbing position. Up on the hill rotate the lever back and the fork quickly returns to max travel. Have fun on the downhills.
Dual Position Air
Mode: Max Adjuster Position: Max Result: Maximum Fork Travel

80/100mm
The first Win is the sweetest
80/100mm 120/130/140mm
When Ned Overend won the first Cross-Country World Championships on a RockShox RS-1 fork in 1990 in Durango, suspension forks entered the world of mountain bikes with a bang. Over 20 years later, just a couple weeks after RockShox introduced the new SID 29” to the public, Jaroslav Kulhavy from Specialized Factory Racing became the first racer to ever win a World Cup on a 29” bike. With RockShox suspension leading the way again, Kulhavy’s landmark victory scored a big win for bigger wheels. Riding on a RockShox Reba 29” chassis with Brain technology, Kulhavy led from nearly start to finish at round 2 of the 2012 UCI World Cup in UK’s Dalby Forest. While some still debate, discuss and hesitate, many riders are already benefitting from the new mountain bike experience: 29”. Just like suspension in the late 1980s, the 29” concept was born in the United States. Already popular in the US, this international victory shows that Europe is catching up fast...winning races! The leading MTB magazines are filled with product test comparisons detailing all the benefits and possible limits of using 29” bikes. Many long-time 26” riders who have tried the 29” experience recently share many of the same emotions as their first time on a mountain bike, just like they rode a suspension fork for the first time.

XC Series 80/100mm
RockShox is committed to the 29” market by offering seven fork models from 80 to 140 mm, 15 different versions and a broad product selection that caters to any rider wish. 11
