S o u t hw e s t e r n Soirée

albuquerque, new mexico

Steps away from historic Old Town, Albuquerque, The Desert Compass welcomes intimate weddings from just the two of you up to 30 of your closest family and friends. Buyout the property’s six suites to have the entire place to yourself for the ultimate, private affair. From the adobe architecture to the surrounding desert landscape, Nopal Home + Design created this inviting Southwestern soirée filled with colors of the earth from neutrals and whites to turquoise and shades of green. Every nuzzle, smile and laugh was captured on camera and film by Sarah Lotus Photography and Kamio Media.

FRESH FLORALS

Let the floral pros at Florecita Flowers take care of your wedding day blooms. Their easy a-la-carte menu lets you pick from a range of options and color palettes featuring local, seasonal and sustainably grown flowers. The “Nopal” palette weaves together soft tones of the desert sunsets with peachy pinks, cool sage and pops of lavender. The bride’s bouquet features cactus paddles, spray and garden roses, lisianthus, scabiosa pods, snapdragons and sprigs of eucalyptus.

SAY I DO

Exchange vows in the venue’s lush garden area with classic adobe walls covered with green vines and orange trumpet flowers as your altar backdrop. Keep things relaxed and cool with his and hers chocolate brown and deep tan bolero hats along with jewelry from two local companies, Yoté and Peyote Bird. Bring in the boho vibe with the Victoria gown by Dreamers & Lovers featuring a low v neckline, illusion long sleeves with stunning lace applique and a flowy skirt with a crochet-edged train.

SWEET ENDINGS

Finish the evening at a low sweetheart table surrounded by plush pillows and woven poufs. Nibble on a charcuterie board that looks like a piece of art from Cuterie & Co made with a combination of cured meats, cheeses, fresh and dried fruit along with jam, chocolate and bread. Finally satisfy any lingering sweet cravings with cactus and skull cookies made by Sweet Trails as well as a terracotta-colored cutting cake by Honey & Salt Cake Co. topped with fresh florals and adorned with a turquoise brooch cookie.
