Whitney + Tanner

DENVER

Whitney and Tanner found one another while going to school at Westmont in Santa Barbara. At first, Tanner was strictly Whitney’s Greek tutor until, he fell for her contagious smile and wit! From California, Colorado, North Carolina and back, the couple dated for five years much of which was long distance. In the summer of 2016, while Tanner finished up a job in Durham, Whitney waited for him to meet her back in California. On the very last day of summer, for Tanner’s homecoming, the two explored Tanner’s hometown and stopped at their favorite spots along the way. That night they made plans to go to the fair with friends at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Surrounded by crowds of people and dancing lights, Tanner pulled Whitney into the closest photo booth. His good friend snuck the ring box into his hand on the way in. Between the first and second shot, Tanner turned to Whitney and asked her to marry him. By the third trip of the shutter Whitney was completely shocked. Before the final shot she had time to find composure, say “Yes!” and kiss her soon-to-be husband for the photo reel. They planned a garden party themed wedding for June 11th in the heart of one of Denver’s historic neighborhoods.

Did someone say garden party?

Whitney envisioned a mid-century modern, garden party for her summer wedding. She trusted her intuition and personal style to make the theme come to life. From global elements to bright pops of floral, who wouldn’t have wanted an invite to this one?

Quiet Moments

“After the ceremony, Tanner and I snuck off to take photos together on the mansion’s steps. As we held each other closely and looked at the new rings on our hands, it hit us! I will never forget that quiet time we shared alone together as husband and wife.”

Soulmate Pairing

The newlyweds forwent the traditional dinner and opted for a food truck styled reception. The Cocktail Caravan served up fresh signature cocktails while guests enjoyed wood fired pizzas from Simply Pizza Truck. Not only did both trucks compliment each other flawlessly, but they created a relaxed, community focused environment - just perfect pre-dance floor!

Advice for Rocky Mountain couples

“Don’t overthink the details. If you like it make it a part of your day. Trust yourself!”
