aubree + jake - Rocky Mountain
Aubree & Jake
COLORADO
Eight years of friendship, filled with impromptu beers and rainy day bowling competitions, laid the foundation for a romance, neither Jake or Aubree could deny. The two were introduced through Jake’s father, who frequented the restaurant Aubree worked at through college. They became good friends and shared a bucket list of adventure together. After getting scuba certified and going skydiving, they took another leap and became a couple. Three years later, Jake planned the ultimate surprise proposal during a family trip to Italy. The two were walking through the picturesque San Felice vineyard in Tuscany when Jake took a knee under a beautiful grapevine tunnel and popped the question. Aubree, shocked, said yes! Both of their families had no idea it was happening and were just as surprised and excited as her. The couple planned an effortlessly classic and minimally boho elopement at Bear Lake and Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.
HIGHLIGHTS
“We had to adapt to a sudden snowstorm which meant purchasing boots the day before our ceremony and also pushing our ceremony by a day. The beauty of eloping with just the two of us was that we could make that change last minute completely stress-free. Performing our own ceremony without a witness was such an intimate experience. It was definitely the highlight of our ceremony and the backdrop of the lake reflecting snow-covered trees and mountains didn’t hurt.”
