Campus Ministry touches the lives of all Rosemont’s students, faculty, staff, and administrators no matter their faith. For our students, Campus Ministry is dedicated to helping them develop their faith and spirituality and gives them opportunities to grow and learn through service opportunities, interfaith programming, retreats, and mentoring. It also helps the entire Rosemont community understand and live the Mission of the College.

Meet Jay Jay Verzosa Director of Campus Ministry The women and men who have been my teachers, mentors, and friends over the years inspire me.
Meet Kerry Kerry Madden Coordinator of the Cornelian Service Corps I get inspired by something new every day.
“Every member of the Rosemont community is respected and is able to have their voice heard, which promotes the uninhibited sharing of each individual’s thoughts and views. As a result, Rosemont, though a Catholic institution, is an amalgam of various backgrounds and beliefs. It allows an individual to be exposed to various ideas which helps them forge a path in the melting pot that is modern society.” —Aaron Pinninti ᾽17
“Opportunities to reflect on the Mission of Rosemont present themselves to me every day with every student, faculty, staff, administrator, and welcomed guest. As an ambassador of the College, it’s my responsibility to uphold and demonstrate the declaration of the values for the community which we hold most important…that which is intended to guide us both personally and professionally. Showing care and passion for my work, and compassion and encouragement for those in our community are what delivers me the greatest joy.” — April Higgins
Office Manager, Office of the Academic Deans
“What I appreciate most about the College’s Mission is that while it is resolutely Catholic it still expresses an openness to other faiths.” — Kevin Gary Director of Alumni Relations
“I believe the Mission is exactly what I was looking for in a college experience. Having spent 4 years at Rosemont College, I can say that the community here is exactly what the Mission statement says. . . it is made up of learners dedicated to excellence. Also the people here are very diverse and I’ve had the chance to meet and befriend people of all walks of life. The Mission statement fits Rosemont perfectly.” —Khai Roberts ᾽17 “There is one word in the Mission statement that really speaks to me and it is the word joy. I have taught at Rosemont for over twenty years and each night, when I leave my class, that is the word that comes to mind. I find immense joy sharing ideas and information with my students. How wonderful to work at a place that fosters joy in the pursuit of knowledge.” — Susan DiGironimo Adjunct Professor
“Rosemont College is a welcoming community because it opens activities to everyone and spreads joy. By working in an environment that welcomes all faiths and cultures, I am able to spread that knowledge and exposure throughout my life. We all need to have faith in the people who surround us daily and Rosemont is a place to find comfort in the world today. I am happy to be part of the Rosemont Community.” — Helen Sciubba Development Associate
The History of
Rosemont’s Mission By: Delories Richardi ᾽53 and Jeanne Marie Hatch, SHCJ
Over the years, the Mission of Rosemont College has been stated in various ways, from a simple sentence in 1922 to the expanded version of today. Yet, key thoughts have always been embedded throughout. Words like Catholic, knowledge, joy, integrity, faith, loyalty, and “meet the wants of the age,” have stayed consistent. Incorporated in 1921, the College received its charter in 1922. That same year, the College’s first Mission Statement was introduced. It simply stated that the College’s purpose was to prepare girls to take their place in the wider fields of activity now open to them, while preserving, at the same time, Catholic ideals in their integrity. By 1927 the Mission was expanded to read, “[Rosemont’s] purpose is to meet the wants of the age by preparing women to take their places in the social and intellectual world…provide facilities for the higher education of Catholic women…development of moral character and the cultivation of true piety and solid virtue.” Click Here for the Complete Article

SGPS Global Studies Trip to Oxford I am aware of the cultural and socio-economic impacts that occur between the United States and the United Kingdom. Meet Alan Alan A. Preti, PhD Co-Director, Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility Greetings! In 2011, a generous grant from Halloran Philanthropies helped Rosemont College celebrate the establishment of the Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility. Over the course of the past five years, the Institute has served to raise awareness on a variety of issues related to ethics, leadership, and social responsibility through the development of new courses and programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, lectures and other events, and co-curricular activities. One of our curricular innovations was the development of a minor program in Ethics and Leadership. The minor grew out of the recognition that students would be well-served in their personal and professional lives by a combined set of leadership and ethical decision-making skills. This practically oriented minor is an ideal accompaniment to any major course of study. For a PDF of the minor program requirements, click here. For more information about the Institute for Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility, please visit our webpage. And don’t forget to like us on Facebook! Alan A. Preti, PhD Co-Director

The Monthly EQ provides students with an opportunity to address such issues and their ethical implications. The aim is to have students reflect on a situation in which they may find themselves at some point during their college career, and to explain how they think the problem is best resolved. Every month, a new case scenario is posted on the Institute’s website; responses are judged by members of the Institute’s Internal Advisory Board. Winning submissions are identified within two weeks of the closing date, and the author receives a gift card in the amount of $50.00.
