Twenty story tower planned for Glendale

A condo complex will soon be built near the intersection of Woodman Ave. and Oxnard St., according to plans currently being considered by city officials. Located at 13717 Oxnard St., the building would contain 16 units and provide parking for 22 vehicles and 18 bicycles. Plans call for a four story structure with a design that cascades downwards as it approaches Oxnard, creating a terraced balcony effect. Once approved, construction would first require the demolition of a pre-existing commercial structure, which previously was inhabited by the Oxwood Inn, a lesbian bar that closed last year after 45 years of operation.

Although Glendale has seen several construction projects in recent years, few have been to this scale, with only the 11-story Hyatt Place coming close.
