• What is flute made of: • Flutes are made of substances such as copper-nickel, silver, gold, and grenadilla (a type of wood). Each of these materials produce different sound characteristics. Even among flutes made of the same material, sound quality and timbre vary according to the thickness of the material.


How does flute sounds: It is high pitched, airy, soft, silvery, wind-like, whistling, whispering, humming, filigree, sighing, aspirate.

• Interesting facts about flute: • The discovery of flute in Germany can be traced back to 35000 years ago, making flute one of the oldest musical instruments in the world! Throughout history, flutes were made of many different materials, including wood, bone, ivory, glass, silver, gold and platinum. Someone that plays flute could be referred to as a flautis.


• How it is played: • You literally blow into the flute in a toooooo sound. Your finger presses into the hole to make different notes and sound. You can choose either sit or stand. Don't raise your arm too high but also don't clip it. When playing, put your cheeks in, don't bulge, and draw up your upper and lower lips. The corners of your mouth are a little bit closer to the back.
